Limbaugh Fight Appeals to Moderates

With thousands of jobs being cut each day and grim news overshadowing the few good days the Dow has had since September 15th, Republican Senators are seriously being threatened by this Rush Limbaugh controversy.

In case you had not heard, Americans United For Change has begun launching ads in moderate states like Maine, Pennsylvania and Nevada warning those states' Republican Senators that if they vote "with Rush" not "with America" they will be on the wrong side of history.

Take Maine and Pennsylvania who have one thing in common: they haven't voted for a Republican Presidential candidate since 1988.  Every time Senators Collins (R-ME), Snowe (R-ME) or Specter (R-PA) come up for re-election, the Democrats put a lot of resources into it because one day, it is likely that at least one of them will lose a Senatorial election.

So when people turn on the TV and hear  an ad replaying Limbaugh's infamous line "I hope he fails" followed by "will Senator [Name] vote with [State] or Rush?" people automatically know what the answer is that they want to hear.  I will make a prediction right now that if any one of those moderate Republicans votes against this bill, it passes, it's signed and it works, that Republican Senator will become a Republican Civilian.

While President Obama most likely had nothing to do with those ads, his fight with Limbaugh has no doubt scared many moderate Republicans (who would not have blocked him anyway) into working with the President in the post-partisan America that their constituencies want.

Just a little side question...why the hell do Limbaugh listeners call proudly themselves "dittoheads"?  Here a list of Senators targeted by the ads.  If you live in their states, call them and reiterate what AUFC said...if you don't call them and pretend you live in their states.
