I'm going to do a weekly entry called "The Center Ring" where I'll talk about some of the less important but more entertaining stories of the previous week.  I guess I'll do it on Tuesdays unless another story comes up I have to cover.

McCain Loses Rematch

Last week, both Obama and Biden predicted that the Steelers would win the Superbowl.  Sunday, Senator McC

ain appeared on ESPN saying he never thought that the Cardinals would make it to the Superbowl but he thought they'd win.  Well, the Obama/Biden ticket beat the McCain/Warner ticket on Sunday which makes it Obama 2, McCain 0.

SNL Ignores Patterson, Mocks his Blindness

Nobody did a better job of covering this election than SNL.  However, the picture at right

is not appropriate.  Patterson was not happy when they first made fun of his blindness and they ignored him and did it again anyway.  I think that when a person asks you not to make fun of something serious like that, you should listen.  The clip was h

ilarious without the blind jokes...make fun of something else.  SNL also poked fun at MSNBC's Rachel Maddow's sexuality having the man playing Blagojevich call the person playing her "Ellen" and making a reference to the word "dyke".

Dumb Criminals

These two criminals handcuffed to each other escape

d from the courthouse and did not give the police much of a hard time finding them.  They knocked each other out forgetting that they could not split a telephone poll (which is bad luck anyway) and swinging into each other knocking each other out.  So now the charge of "attempted escape" is added to the docket.

Blagojevich Gives his First Post-gubernatorial Press Conference

Did he pay those people to say "we love you too" and "will you shoot hoops with me this summer"?  And who was that woman that kept cutting him off?  Fitzgerald should take his time with that indictment...I want to keep this clown around.  Ever since Bush left, comedy's been going down hill.

Palin Lies to GOP

130 Republicans attended an annual Winter Retreat this weekend and Palin was invited.  She declined saying that she could not leave Alaska given the circumstances of the economy, budget crisis, etc.  Pretty understandable...except she was dining with Pres. Obama in Washington!  Didn't bother Rep. Boehner who said, "whatever" when asked about it.  Why's she in Washington anyway?  Is she like...going to run for some office or something?
